The Grand Ranch Tour: A 45-Minute Guided Adventure Climb aboard for the ultimate tour of Woolly Yak Ranch & Winery! This 45-minute guided hay wagon ride is the best way to see every corner of our working farm while hearing the stories that make this place special. It’s an all-encompassing journey through our "Modern Agro-Ecology" that’s fun for the whole family. Before we depart, be sure to stop by our food truck to grab a Strawberry Lemonade Shake-Up or a Yak Attack craft soda. Once you have your refreshments, find a seat on the wagon and let’s head out! What You’ll See Along the Way Our guides provide a wealth of information about the ranch’s history and our unique animals as we travel through: • The Pawpaw Orchard & Walnut Grove: Learn about Indiana’s largest native fruit and the towering timber that shades our property. • The Sheep Barn: Keep an eye out for our Babydoll Southdown sheep as we pass by their favorite grazing spots. • The Pond & Lavender Rows: We’ll ride along the back end of our serene one-acre pond, passing right by our lavender rows. It’s a beautiful spot to see the seasonal changes of the farm and enjoy the view across the water. • Purple Martin Village: Catch a glimpse of the birdhouses that make up our bustling Purple Martin colony. Our guides will explain the vital role these birds play in our farm’s ecosystem. The Grand Finale: In the Heart of the Pasture The highlight of the tour occurs when the wagon pulls directly into the yak pasture. While many guests enjoy meeting our residents at the fence line, the wagon ride offers a unique, immersive perspective from the center of the field. From your elevated seat, you’ll be surrounded by the herd and have the chance to hand-feed and pet the yaks as they wander right up to the wagon to say hello. It’s a wonderful way to experience their world from a whole new angle. Experience Details • Duration: Approximately 45 minutes. • Guided Insight: Learn about everything from how we brush our yaks for wool to our "Country Farm" philosophy. • Comfort & Fun: A relaxing, scenic way to enjoy the ranch with plenty of photo opportunities. • Children under 2 do not require a ticket provided they sit on an adult's lap. Cancellation Policy
The Yak-Back Credit: Our Cancellation Policy At Woolly Yak Ranch & Winery, the safety of our guests and the well-being of our animals are our top priorities. Because we are an outdoor, working ranch, there are times when Mother Nature or the needs of our livestock require us to adjust our plans. When We Cancel: If an event is cancelled due to rain, severe weather, or for the safety and care of our animals, we will notify you as soon as possible via email. The Yak-Back Credit: In place of a traditional refund, every ticket holder will receive a Yak-Back Credit (equal to what you paid) sent directly to their email. How to Use Your Credit: Your Yak-Back Credit never expires and is flexible for your next visit: • Book a Future Event: Use your credit to reschedule for a future Story Time or any other upcoming event on the ranch. • Shop the Ranch: Your credit can be applied toward anything else sold at Woolly Yak Ranch & Winery. Whether you’re stopping in for a visit or joining us for a different activity, the credit is yours to use across our entire shop. We appreciate your understanding in helping us keep our animals happy and our guests safe!
