We're nuts about pecans
EXPERIENCE FRESH-FROM OUR ORCHARD TO YOUR TABLE
Lots of ranch guests are surprised when they see our 250 pecan trees with 13 different varieties. Although pecan trees are native to Indiana they are typically located in the southwestern region. We are thrilled to offer you an opportunity to see, feel, and smell a pecan orchard.

We have two pecan orchards! Our large seven acre orchard is very unique because we raise yaks on it! Our pecan trees have 45x45 foot spacing which allows plenty of space for our trees and plenty of grazing pasture for our yaks. Silvopasture is an agroforestry practice that we use to combines trees, grazing animals and forage in a beneficial way. We are very proud of our sustainable land management system that combines livestock, trees, and forest management. We are able to avoid chemical sprays because our Babydoll sheep eat pasture weeds and our yaks consume pasture grass. Yaks not only eliminate the need to mow, but their manure is a good source of nutrients for our pecan trees. You are invited to sit on a bench and enjoy the view of pecan trees while watching our darling yaks as they munch our orchard grass. Our second orchard is filled with pecan, walnut, pawpaw and persimmon trees. Take a stroll through our orchard and have fun identifying these trees.
A visit to our pecan orchard offers a connection to the land and its rich agricultural heritage. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, a culinary explorer seeking the perfect ingredient for your next recipe, or simply someone looking to unwind amidst serene surroundings, our orchard welcomes you with open arms. Take a leisurely stroll down our paths, breathe in the crisp, earthy aroma of pecans, and learn about the care that goes into nurturing these nutritious treasures.

Pecans are more than just a delicious snack; they also offer an array of impressive health benefits that make pecans a fantastic addition to your diet. These nutrient packed nuts are a good source of healthy fats, predominantly monounsaturated fats (similar to those found in olive oil) like oleic acid, which have been linked to improved heart health by lowering bad cholesterol levels. Pecans are also rich in antioxidants including phenolic compounds, which help combat oxidative stress and inflammation in the body. Incorporating pecans into your meals or enjoying them as a snack not only adds a delicious nutty flavor but also delivers a host of nutrients that contribute to overall well-being. The National Institutes of Health published a study that found that eating just one ounce of pecans daily for twelve weeks improved the ratio of total cholesterol to HDL (good) cholesterol in the blood.
