FRESH FROM OUR ORCHARD TO YOUR TABLE

Many guests are surprised to discover a thriving pecan grove right here in central Indiana. While native to the state, pecan trees are typically found much further southwest. We currently manage 250 trees across 13 unique varieties, offering you a firsthand look at a working orchard.

We manage two distinct orchards using silvopasture—a sustainable agricultural practice that integrates trees, livestock, and forage. In our seven-acre orchard, the trees are planted with wide 45x45 foot spacing, leaving open pasture for our yaks and Babydoll Southdown sheep to graze. This natural partnership means the animals do the heavy lifting: the sheep manage the weeds, the yaks graze the grass, and their presence provides nutrient-rich fertilizer while eliminating the need for chemical sprays or mowing. We invite you to grab a bench, enjoy the open layout, and watch the herds graze among the pecans.

Our second orchard features a diverse canopy of pecan, walnut, pawpaw, and persimmon trees. It is an ideal spot to walk the paths and identify the different native Indiana crops.
